Looking for something someone said last week? A link someone dropped months ago? Or maybe a file or image from that tournament? Discord’s Search function can help you find just about anything ever posted—as far back as the server’s creation!
⸻
🛠️ How to Start a Search
There are two easy ways to open the search bar:
• Click the 🔍 search bar at the top right of your Discord window.
• Or press:
• Ctrl + F (Windows)
• Cmd + F (Mac)
This will open up a search panel with some useful filters.
⸻

⸻
đź“… Bonus: Search by Calendar
When using date filters, a calendar will pop up so you can pick the exact date range easily. Combine it with other filters for super-specific results.
⸻
đź“‘ Sort & Jump
Once results appear:
• Use the Sort by toggle to switch between Relevance or Newest.
• Click Jump to go directly to the message inside the channel.
⸻
đź’¬ Final Tips
• Discord indexes messages all the way back to the start of a server.
• Larger servers might take a second to show results—but it’s worth the wait.
• Searches are local to the server you’re in. Make sure you’re in the right one!
